Day 19 - Friday 15th August - A sunny day in Beijing - 15th August

Today in Beijing was a wonderful sunny day and the many flowers which has been planted especially for the Olympics look wonderful. It was like being on the French Riviera!

Picture above: Today in the kitchen there is a lot of work to do. The chefs prepare dishes for the banquet of the National presidents of the International Handball Association.

Picture above: In this weather the guests in the Public Restaurant of the HoS are very thirsty. Ying serves them refreshing drinks.

Picture above: Washing dishes is a hard job. Shin is flexible and makes this work you can love.

Picture above: Mr Hermann obtained a handball ticket for the women's game; France against Norway. France had no chance and lost the match by more then 10 goals.

Picture above: Mr Peter Mühlematter, Secretary General of International Handball Federation, between Mr Edwin Rudolf, Project Manager of HoS, and Mr Heinz Steimann, Reporter from NLZ. Mr Mühlematter says: "Handball provided fantastic viewing figures at the 2004 Games, but in 2008 he wished handball to be among the best ranked sports in the IOC general statistics. Edwin Rudolf is proud of the 75'000 visitors until today. Mr Steimann is reporting daily in the NLZ about what's going on in Beijing and his enthusiasm about the games.


Weather today in Beijing: Sunny and very warm if not hot! Blue sky in Beijing!


Fascinating fact for today: A day without rain in Beijing.

The Swiss victory in the Men's double gives hope for another Swiss medal, maybe there are even more! The HoS with our fantastic working students is always ready for more medal ceremonies.

Juhuii!!! Another big party can start in HoS, Gold for our Tennis Double.

On Wednesday we did have the great party in HoS for the Swiss medal winners. It was not possible to join the hockey match and so I sold the tickets.

Mot only Switzerland was happy with the second gold medal also in the House of Switzerland we did have a big party together with Federer and Wawrinka.
