Picture: Mr Caldwell greeting local Beijingers (volunteers) outside the Olympic Stadium.12 days to go before the Olympic torch is lit but only 3 days to go until the House of Switzerland (HoS) hosts its first banquet for 700! Yes, its all go here in Beijing! As visible preparations are carried out across the city of Beijing the HoS is full of workmen bustling from one side of the building to the other industriously ensuring that all will be ready in a matter of days. Staff, exhibitors and of course IMI's lucky students are all busy assisting and eagerly awaiting the official opening on Switzerland's national day, 1st August. There's an excitement building not just in the HoS but throughout Beijing as the most important sports event is about to take place with the eyes of the world watching.
In the forthcoming weeks I will bring you all the news as it happens from the HoS with interesting stories, fascinating insights and a touch of British/Swiss humour! how does the house of switzerland looks like right now, 3 days before first event? what typically swiss do the celebrate in design and colors. Can you ask some local chinese what is swissness for them

Lukas; the HoS looks like a building site right now with workmen everyhere but once its finished it will be a red and white modern Swiss masterpiece. Keep paying your taxes otherwise it might not get finished!
Chef Leonard; Chef Dawei is fine, working 18hrs a day, no time for a Chinese cigarette, still suffering from jet lag, not sleeping at night and cooking Chinese food for 700 the day after tomorrow. On second thoughts you ask him how he is enjoying being back home!

Nimen hao!!!! I will hand over my photo's to Gavin so that everyone can get an idea as to what the HoS looked like on our arrival, how it looks now and how it will look as of...tomorrow.
Triumph Inspiration Awards will be tomorrow. 600 guests have been invited for this glitzy event. Linford Christie, Designers Viktor and Rolf and (Ex) Super Model Helena Christensen are already present in the house. Once the fashion show is over UNIPLAN have 15 hours to empty the whole hall and set up for August the 1st. Live bands, typical Swiss meals, Eichhof & plenty of White wine will be served. Officially though we open on the 2nd. In the public restaurant all our tables are white and around them will be placed 3 white chairs and 1 red chair.
